ABOUT US

Changing Their World

In the last decade West Africa has become a recognizable wound in the world. For the many years that Africa was colonized, much of the world paid hardly any attention to the injustices and unrest that settled itself deep in the roots of this continent. However, there has become a growing rate of awareness due to celebrity power and money being invested to engine many charities and organizations. Although, these people are using their resources to impact third world nations; there is still a need and cry from specific parts of the world, such as West Africa.

Sierra Leone in particular was brought to the attention of core nations due to the severity and horror of their civil war from 1991-2000. The world was astonished by the brutality and ruthless massacres carried out by Sierra Leone's own citizens. Sierra Leone was gravely handicapped all the more following their nine years of relentless warfare. Needless to say the children of this country were devastated by the impact of this war; from education to infrastructure, the nation of Sierra Leone was gravely handicapped. Today, Sierra Leone does not have the resources alone to build a sustainable infrastructure, nor do they have the education system to support a growing generation.

Thousands of children have been orphaned by West Africa's conflict. According to some estimates, 8000 children were separated from their families or orphaned by the civil unrest. Carol Bellamy, UNICEF's Executive Director said, "Children should have no part in war." She added, "The wider problem [is] the complete neglect of a whole generation..." Sociologist Kama Bangura, of the University of Sierra Leone said, "Children will be hardest hit by the gradual collapse of basic services." One of the strategies used by the rebels in Sierra Leone to arrest any resistance they may have faced during the civil war was to recruit children in the effort to destroy and corrupt the country. This same method can be used for the greatness of Africa as well. Educating Africa's children and sustaining health by drilling for clean water in even the poorest of villages will promote the success of this future generation.

Each country presents its own set of challenges, complexities and situations. However, with your help, the people of Africa will be drinking clean water and many of them for the first time. The children will be receiving a quality education that will empower them to play a leadership role in building a sustainable infrastructure for their community, while affirming their future in a globalized world. With your help, Into-Africa can restore the basic services of education and drinking water in some of the poorest regions of West Africa, including The Gambia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, Liberia, Cameroon and Sierra Leone. With your assistance, Into-Africa will continue to provide the important foundation for a brave new Africa and beyond.

These men are of good standing and faithfulness in every aspect of ministry. They have excelled and been found accountable in every area of ministerial administration. The supervision of all of the facilities constructed for Into Africa Inc. will be supervised by our trained workers. However, the labor of these facilities will be contracted out to local skilled workers.
