Many snails in tropical regions are infected with Schistosomiasis (a parasite that is transmitted from snails to humans). It’s a blood fluke that lives as worms in the human host. It can penetrate through unbroken skin. You just have to get splashed by water containing cercariae in order to become infected.
There are drugs that will kill the schistosome in the human, but reinfection is almost inevitable. As soon as people make contact with the water again, within days they could have more parasites.
The parasites will flow through the bloodstream and collect at the liver, to consume the tissue. Millions of people are clinging to life due to the aggressive nature of these parasites. Parasites contracted, not only from drinking, but merely coming into contact with unsafe water.
You can bring security to an entire village when you provide clean drinking water ($50), you can change in the future of our world placing a chalkboard in front of a seven year old African student ($10), you can purchase a share of the school building ($50), or you can donate any amount toward funding a Medical Mission Team on the ground, the opportunities are endless. There is nothing in the world like the satisfaction you will receive by providing, the perfect solution to the problem.

Into-Africa is honored to be able to assist David Hamilton, Jr. with a check for $800.00, which will help pay expenses towards his examination fees.
My name is David Hamilton Jr. and I have just turned 13. I attend College Sainte Elisabeth in Cotonou, Benin. At the beginning of the second semester this January, I was chosen by the school administration for the BEPC exam. (Brevet d’Etudes du Premier Cycle) Subsequently I was promoted to form 3. This is due to what is been qualified as an excellent performance during the first semester by the school authorities while I was in form 2.
I have represented my school on two occasions at a nationwide quiz in Mathematics, physics, Biology. I hope to make it through and then be able take the next step to fulfilling my dream. In order to take the next step my parents have to raise $1100 to pay for the examination fees. Education in Africa can be very expensive this is one of the reasons for the high illiteracy rate throughout the continent. I want to thank you in advance for all of the help and support that Into-Africa is giving me to help meet the need.
My dream is to become a surgeon specialist and work to create a safe environment for the many street kids in my city. I cannot wait to help others as you have helped me. Thank you and may God bless you all.
David Hamilton, Jr.
Pastor Aiah and Mariama Abu have served faithfully in the nation of Liberia for over ten years now. After taking the leadership of the Church from Pastor Peter and Jennifer Dore who began the work in October of 1989, the congregation is in desperate need of a new building. Into-Africa has pledged to join with the people of Liberia in co-laboring with them in raising funds to make this become a reality.
Pastor David and Deborah Hamilton have served faithfully in the nation of Benin since March 2003. The congregation has grown to such an extent that he is forced to use plastic covering outside of his building to facilitate a place to cover people from the rain. Into-Africa is excited about what the future has in store for the people of Benin. A new facility will move the congregation to another level of growth causing them to have greater impact into the nations of Western Africa.
These buildings provide not only the congregation with a Church – but also double as a school for grades 1 thru five. We are so grateful to all of our sponsors and donors who have supported us throughout 2011 which helped us to complete two facilities in the nation of Sierra Leone. Let’s continue in 2012 to do together what we cannot do alone.
Into-Africa continues to encourage you in donating your birthday to charity. So far the response we have received has been minimal but those who have donated made a big difference. Therefore, we'd like to take the time and explain Charity Birthday in a better way so you will know exactly how you can make a difference today. Here's a brief description of Charity Birthday from the founder.
A few years ago I decided to stop asking for gifts for my birthday and Christmas. I never really knew what to ask for, and, in general, I just didn't really want more stuff. So I started to ask people to donate to charities instead of getting me gifts. At first I asked people to donate to whatever charity they wanted, but then I decided to do a little research and find charities that really spoke to me with their missions.
With Charity Birthday we're hoping to make it that much easier to do this for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Hanukkah, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Tuesday, etc. It also gives people a chance to talk about the charities and why they're important.
So donate your birthday today! It's a great way to celebrate your birthday, makes it easy and convenient for people to give you a meaningful gift, and provides your favorite charities with some great, valuable exposure.

Into-Africa is already listed as one of the possible charities you can 'donate' your birthday to at Charity Birthday's site. Or you can see others who've donated their birthdays and make a contribution to their charity! Here is the link to Into-Africa Charity Birthday's site so you can make a difference by donating today!

Happy New Year to everyone who has in one way or another helped Into-Africa to fulfill it’s goal and commitment to serve the people of Africa in 2011. Last year, Into-Africa had the privilege of completing two very large building projects in the nation of Sierra Leone. One project is located in the City of Bo, under the leadership of Pastor Albert Freeman we were able to fully complete the project, which was started in 2010. In the township of Moyamba, under the leadership of Pastor Adornis Ngegba, we were able to complete our second project for the year.
The significance of these facilities is multi-faceted. They are large enough to facilitate 500 people as well as double as classrooms for children in Grade 1 to Grade 5. What’s really exciting are both buildings are in strategic areas that addresses the needs of the people. In 2010 – over 75% of all funds raised by Into-Africa went directly to projects in Africa. The percentage for 2011 is in the neighborhood of 65 to 70 percent. These numbers are unprecedented. Into-Africa’s success isn’t necessarily the results of its’ financial contributions or having large amounts of funds. Our success is found in our volunteers. Without the support, effort and teamwork exhibited by our faithful volunteers, this would only be a pipe dream. Without volunteers our operating expenses would increase, therefore affecting our ability to adequately serve the needs of Africa.
I want to take this time and thank all of those who volunteered their time, gave of their finances and used their skills and creativity for the following fundraisers in the calendar year of 2011:
We are looking forward to all the events we have planned for 2012. It should be a great year for Africa. We at Into-Africa wish all of you a very Happy and prosperous New Year!
