Happy New Year to everyone who has in one way or another helped Into-Africa to fulfill it’s goal and commitment to serve the people of Africa in 2011. Last year, Into-Africa had the privilege of completing two very large building projects in the nation of Sierra Leone. One project is located in the City of Bo, under the leadership of Pastor Albert Freeman we were able to fully complete the project, which was started in 2010. In the township of Moyamba, under the leadership of Pastor Adornis Ngegba, we were able to complete our second project for the year.
The significance of these facilities is multi-faceted. They are large enough to facilitate 500 people as well as double as classrooms for children in Grade 1 to Grade 5. What’s really exciting are both buildings are in strategic areas that addresses the needs of the people. In 2010 – over 75% of all funds raised by Into-Africa went directly to projects in Africa. The percentage for 2011 is in the neighborhood of 65 to 70 percent. These numbers are unprecedented. Into-Africa’s success isn’t necessarily the results of its’ financial contributions or having large amounts of funds. Our success is found in our volunteers. Without the support, effort and teamwork exhibited by our faithful volunteers, this would only be a pipe dream. Without volunteers our operating expenses would increase, therefore affecting our ability to adequately serve the needs of Africa.
I want to take this time and thank all of those who volunteered their time, gave of their finances and used their skills and creativity for the following fundraisers in the calendar year of 2011:
We are looking forward to all the events we have planned for 2012. It should be a great year for Africa. We at Into-Africa wish all of you a very Happy and prosperous New Year!
